Day 72 - The Advocate - Devotions for the Menopausal Woman

 Read:  1 John 2:1-6

The Advocate

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.  And if any man (woman) sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous" (1 John 2:1).

Where would we be without our precious Savior's cross experience?  Who would we turn to if He hadn't opened the portal between us and God?  While in the midst of my oceans of emotions Jesus is all I have to cling to.  And He alone is the reason I am not condemned when I fail.  Without Him I am up a creek and so are you.  Without Him as my advocate, all would be hopeless.

Without Him as your advocate you face the same fate.  It is only through His shed blood that we can approach the Father and confess our sins.  Jesus became the propitiation for my sins and for yours, and not only mine and yours, but for the entire world's.  He has opened up the portal for any person to enter in and accept Him as advocate.

When I am angered easily, when I scowl or criticize, when I am lazy and self-absorbed, I can rest in the truth that because of what Jesus did, I am not condemned.

Have you accepted what Jesus did on the cross for you?  The knowledge of His selflessness is our motivation as we struggle to remain holy when everything inside us is screaming rebellion.  Through Jesus, it is possible to endure all circumstances, even menopause.

Today's Hot Flash:  Without Jesus there is no hope.  With Him, there is not only hope, but victory in all circumstances.

Prayer:  Oh, Father, thank You for Jesus.  What a price He paid for such a sinner as I.  Please, help me to serve You with a heart full of gratitude.  Amen
